"Some improvements and some fallbakcs"
Pros: The new interface is friendly for all the "I'm 12 years old and want a free copy of Photoshop and expect GIMP to be just that"-noobs.
Cons: Going back to the old interface (which i.m.o. is much better) results in various bugs.

"Great alternative to Photoshop"
Pros: 1) First of all it's free and that's always a plus.
2) Has almost everything you would expect from Photoshop.
3) Doesn't take up resources.
4) Works like a charm.Cons: 1) Not for the novice photo editor!
2) Interface could use a rework.Summary: I've been using GIMP for about 5 months and I'm very happy with it. Now I don't have to look at the price tag of Photoshop knowing I have something fairly similar to it and it's free! read more
