From Shareaza:

Shareaza has unique features, including ghost ratings, a completely user-configurable queue area, and multinetwork support. The program started as a Gnutella client but recently branched out and developed Gnutella2, a completely open and documented network. Shareaza's interface is easy to use, yet powerful and fully skinnable. Shareaza's download core was built to provide optimum performance from any number of sources. Shareaza can manage your download queue automatically, or you can take charge and modify the status of files or even individual physical transfers and sources.

Version 2.2.5 has multiple fixes on all supported networks, providing vastly improved multi-network, peer-to-peer file-sharing capabilities. There also are several new features, including a scheduler, a review viewer, enhanced translations, and improved metadata support. Help facilities and documentation have been improved to make the application easier to use. Version 2.3.1 is a bug fixing release.

"A lean, mean sharing machine"

Although the bigger names in the P2P world still maintain the lion's share of users, several smaller entities have popped up. These programs appeal to those fed up with the fluff and third-party software often found in the more popular applications.

Shareaza is focused and lean, with a gorgeous interface and connections to the Gnutella2, Gnutella, eDonkey, and BitTorrent networks. It's also handsome and easy to use; we had no trouble quickly figuring out how to search, check our network status, and customize the interface through a healthy choice of skins. Search results were extremely fast, although we wish each new search automatically spawned a new tab. Shareaza also has a decent built-in media player for common audio and video formats. Other features include a chat client and the ability to schedule transfers.

The file-management system, with a slew of folders divided and subdivided into all sorts of categories, may overwhelm novices, though seasoned file-sharers probably won't have that much trouble. Overall, though, Shareaza's design, performance, and trim size provide make it a nice choice for peer-to-peer users.

"Not Bad For Up-To Date Music Files"

Pros: A decent programme for up-to date music files.

Cons: If you are looking for those hard-to -find tracks...it will prove quite difficult. Shareaza have recently up-dated this software and it is no where near as good as what it used to be and music files are extremely limited. I mush prefer Soul Seek or limewire.

Pros: I like this one, and i prefer this this over LimeWire, the downloads are fast(based on my experience....

"Last good version (4.1.0 is completely commercial)"

Pros: Good app for sharing over major p2p networks. I went to the site and downloaded their new version 4.1.0

Cons: The new version (4.1.0) seems to promote sharing of illegal music. Can no longer search for or share files other than music and video. Added interfaces for purchasing ringtones and music. Must register name and email address.

"Dont Bother - Downloads take forever and eats memory"

Cons: I have used Shareaza for a few years (ever since WinMX went away) and was a great p2p program. Now with the latest past few versions, downloads take forever. It is taking me days or weeks to download what I used to be able to in hours or a couple days. I am now using emule and have downloaded more files in 2 days than in 3 weeks with Shareaza. Also Shareaza uses up alot of memory and slows everything else down dramaticaly. If Shareaza can fix this problem I will go back to using it again, but until then I am sticking with emule

"Not Bad"

Pros: Shareaza shares its name with lots of servers so getting something you want is defenetly going to happen

Cons: But there are bad sides because Shareaza is blocked by Roter Firewalls so you can only use this program if you open up one of the ports(!) so hackers can find there way into these "Holes" in the Firewall!!!!
