From Lime Wire:

LimeWire is a software tool that enables peer-to-peer file-sharing on the Gnutella network. Similar to the once-popular Napster service, it enables the sharing, searching, and downloading of MP3 files. LimeWire also lets users share and search for all types of computer files, including movies, pictures, games, and text documents. Other features include dynamic querying, push proxy support for connecting through firewalls, the ability to preview files while downloading, and advanced techniques for locating rare files. LimeWire now offers downloads that are faster and more reliable than Kazaa.

Version 3.6.6 includes numerous enhancements designed to improve search and download performances and refine the user experience.

After big networks such as Napster were shut down, programs such as LimeWire stepped into the gap. At first glance, this product shines. The elegant blue interface is easy to navigate. Instead of opening a new search window, you just type what you want to find into the search box, and the program does the rest. Even if the line is busy, the program tries to re-establish the connection to a file on its own. To read all available information about a file, you just point at it. The latest version takes away the option to set the number of connections, which spares the network but may annoy some users. Because your host-browsing window opens in the search-window row, it's hard to differentiate search results from host-browsing results. This is a decent file-sharing program that has room to improve.
