Publisher's description of iTunes 7.6
From Apple:iTunes, the award-winning digital-jukebox software, is now available for Mac and Windows. The iTunes Music Store offers Windows users the same online music store as Mac users, with the same music catalog, the same personal-use rights, and the same 99-cents-per-song pricing. With music from all five major music companies and more than 600 independent labels, the iTunes Music Store catalog now offers more than 1,000,000 songs. Features include a free download with no hidden charges for extra features, MP3 and pristine-quality AAC-encoding from audio CDs, smart playlists, more than 250 free Internet radio stations, and the ability to burn custom playlists to CDs and MP3 CDs, to burn content to DVDs to back up an entire music collection, and to share music via Rendezvous over any network, cross-platform.
Version 7.6 includes movie rentals: you can rent and watch movies on your computer, or sync them to your iPod or iPhone.
Please note that downloading this program takes you to a third-party Web site.

- "Audio? Video? iTunes can do it"
Although iTunes has always been one of the best pieces of jukebox software available, the company improved upon a great thing with version 7, which has added enhanced video capabilities, ringtone editing for the iPhone and new ways to view your music library.
A cleaned-up left sidebar makes finding your music and videos a snap and the new Album and Cover-Flow view options let you flip through CDs in style. The built-in video player accommodates both your own files and ones bought at the iTunes Store. Right-clicking a clip lets you render it iPod-compatible. With the addition of full-length movies at the iTunes Store, you can now view near-DVD quality movies at a resolution of 640x480.
The experience of both purchasing and playing movies and videos is almost identical to performing the same actions with music, so seasoned users will have no trouble. Old popular features remain intact including seamless iPod integration, smart playlists, CD burning, label printing, the ability to rip files in multiple formats (except WMA), network sharing, and, of course, the enormously successful iTunes Store. The iTunes Store also offers DRM-free, higher sound quality songs, but they're more expensive than the standard $0.99, as are ringtones. Movie rentals start at $2.99, and can be purchased for $9.99.
Rounding out the feature set are parental controls, integrated podcasts, and a smart-shuffle option. iTunes is sometimes clunky on Windows, and can cause significant processor slowdowns. Still, it remains a top-notch player and iTunes 7 should find a home on any media junkie's computer.

Version: iTunes 7.6
"Best free music management software available!"
Pros: iTunes is amazing music management software. It easily allows you to add, edit & delete songs and playlists. It comes with a built-in visualizer, and can support other visualizers as well. It also has a radio feature, where you can listen to online radio for free. At the bottom of the program, it tells you how many songs you have, an approximate length of all the songs put together, and how much space all the songs are taking up on your hard drive. But that is not all. It's music store, allows you to download songs for $0.99 each, music videos for $1.99 each, and iPod games for $4.99 each.
Cons: As your library gets bigger, it takes longer for the program to start up. I have 136 songs in my library and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute to start.

"Don't upgrade from 7.5 to 7.6!!"
Pros: I've always loved iTunes's simplicity.
Cons: So I download the massive 57MB iTunes setup file, and after an install that seemed to take FOREVER, I ran the new version (7.6) of iTunes. My PC goes slow (I've got a Hyperthread Genuine Intel P4 3.2Ghz) and almost grinds to a hault. I notice iTunes not responding and using 50% of my CPU. I try to uninstall it and re-install 7.5 again, and I get a message "Cannot open iTunes library as it was created by a newer version of iTunes). I try to re-install 7.6 and get the same issue of a useless PC. So there goes my playlists & ratings, and I either have to start from scratch or find a new media player!!!

Version: iTunes 7.6
Pros: Cover flow and the fact it downloads the album covers for you. Oh and it looks nicer than Windows Media Player.
Cons: Do not like this at all (currently looking for a third party app to use with my iPod). It is very bloated and I am getting sick of the 50Mb+ upgrades to iTunes (which are very frequent).
*Very* *very* slow in loading up and when navigating the side icons. Also it often doesn't render correctly so I get big black patches on the program that take a while to disappear (and often require a restart). I have fast computers and this is the only program I seem to have issues with freezing and running slow. Run it on both XP and Vista and find it less of a problem in Vista. Have given up running this on my XP machine as it often freezes up the whole system for minutes on end.
Comes with Quicktime and update processes that run all the time (which I was forced to do registry changes to get rid of - though there might be easier ways of getting rid of these)
Can only sync my iPod to one Music Library, it deleted a bunch of songs I bought from the shop and now incorrectly says I have used up all my licences so I cannot get these songs back.
I really really hate this program...

Version: iTunes 7.6
Pros: This is the best music player ever! I can even listen to LIVE radio! This kicks every other player's kid-friendly devices! Other players cripple your songs from your CD's.
