Version: Xingtone Ringtone Maker 5
"Poor product with horrible support."
Pros: Attractive interface.
Cons: If you're like me, you are looking for a solution that will enable you to create your own high quality ringtones for your mobile phone. Xingtone is definitely not the answer. They have excellent marketing, but unfortuantely their product and support is sub-par at best. I was suckered in by their slick image and the "30 Day Money Back Guarantee" (that by the way, no longer appears on their website). After a few unsuccesful attempts at downloading a ringtone, I decided to contact their support team for some assistance. With their help, I was finally able to download a ringtone. However, it only worked after I'd edited it down to 4 seconds! Xingtone support (after you purchase their software) even suggests that you keep your clips under 5 seconds..! That may work for some people, but not me. Upon realizing that Xingtone wasn't going to suit my needs, coupled with the fact that it was rife with crashes, I decided to pursue a refund. Needless to say, they have been dodging me for weeks. I've sent them (4) e-mails which have mostly been replied to with form letters. I also chatted with an online service agent who assured me that I would be contacted very soon (that was weeks ago) concerning the refund process. These guys are shady! They're a perfect example of, "If it's too good to be true, then it probably is..."

Version: Xingtone Ringtone Maker 5
"Great program if it actually works"
Pros: This program came with my Roxio EMC 9 for free. I got two successful ringtones out of it.
Cons: After two successful ringtones, the program quit working. This was on a computer running XP SP2. I disabled, and even uninstalled my firewall to no avail. I then contacted tech support numerous times. To their credit they responded very quickly. The final time they e-mailed me, tech support told me to edit my registry. They couldn't tell me how or which keys to edit. This is when I removed the program and stopped contacting them. Then I loaded the program on a different computer. This time I received different errors and sent more unsuccessful ringtones to my phone. The computer I loaded it on runs Vista, and the version I downloaded says it's compatible with Vista. I received an error saying that it is not. This program would be great IF it actually worked as promised. I'm convinced that they rushed this program to market without working out the numerous bugs. Let the public know when it does actually work. Until then, don't even waste your time installing it.

Cons: Only runs charges up on your phone with text messages and connects you to the internet with 404 error messages more cost to your cell phone for internet access..I rate this program right up there with downloading a virus .

"couldn't get wallpapers working"
Pros: I was able to get ringtones working. I like the volume controls although it didn't have much effect.
Cons: I couldn't get wallpapers working. I kept getting an error "page cannot be displayed"? Seperately, I was browsing download.com and found ToneThis which basically is the same product but is free and supports video. Why pay $20 when you don't have to?

Pros: Well you can pay them instead of the phone company.
Cons: You have to pay. Your MP3 phone is useless to the songs YOU OWN. Plus this trial only allowed me 1 upload. It didn't work right. So I tried again and it said must buy lisence. Uninstalled. Junk. Do not buy whatever you do.
