Publisher's description of 1st Screen Lock 7.5

From Ixis:

1st Screen Lock is a password-protected desktop security utility that lets you lock your desktop with a password on boot, or at the time you are leaving your PC. You can use the built-in spy utility that works in background and enables you to spy on your PC users by fixing all user moves in a log file. This is very useful, when you need to know what your children or personnel do at the time you are away.

Version 7.5 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Editor's review of 1st Screen Lock 7.5

Despite claims that this application is "free to try," users are unable to do anything until they fork over the money to register it. 1st Screen Lock is touted as a means to password protect your PC and keep tabs on those using your computer.

After downloading the program, three icons are placed on your desktop. Clicking the 1st Screen Lock icon brings up a predominantly black screen with instructions for clicking the 1st Security Agent icon to set up a password. However, users clicking on the second icon, 1st Security Agent, are quickly greeted with a pop-up message notifying them that they must register the program before they can do anything else. Before the pop-up screen appears, users get a brief glimpse of a simple tree structure used to set a number of security settings. Oddly, there is a third icon, titled Safe Web Browser, that opens a very basic Web browser. Since this feature is never mentioned by the publisher anywhere, there's no way to tell if the browser has any special benefits when using it to surf.

Trial limitations are understandable, but preventing testers from trying any of an apps features doesn't make sense. Without having any idea whether this program is reliable or effective, it is impossible for us to recommend it.
