Version: Hotspot Shield 1.05
"Free program but warning viruses included for free also!!!!"
Pros: Uh let me see...hmmmm .....NOTHING!!!
Cons: Upon install of Hotspot Shield my Avast anti virus program detected SEVERAL Trojan Backdoor Viruses!!!!! These could have been false positives from my anti virus program but I quarantined all the infected files and proceeded to un-install this so-called security program just as fast as I could before any harm could come to my PC.
Like I said these could have been false positives but I would not take that chance or trying a free "security" just to infect my clean system.
Would you be willing to do so? I hope not.
Until someone says definitely that this program is Virus free I will look elsewhere.
I rate this program a minus 10
Don't say I didn't warn you

Updated on Jul 19, 2008As a follow-up I installed HotSpot Shield again and gave it a work-out.
My overall impression is 3 out of 5 stars.
Would have received a higher score except for a few areas that need to be corrected.
Top of my list of much needed improvement are as follows:
Need to have option to atuo-start upon boot of system and
VERY sporatic connectivity. Within a 30 minute period while using HotSpot Shield my internet connection was disconnected 7 times !!!!!
It re-connected within 30 seconds but I had to start all over again using the web. This becomes a big problem especially if you are in the middle of doing something quite important on the web.
Note: I tried several WIFI locations and tried even my wireless connection at home and the disconnect problem still continued.
If the conectivity problem can be resolved, increase free bandwidth limit of 3GB to 10GB,add an auto-start option, reduce the size of the annoying banner ads, this would be a viable WIFI security alternative.
