From The Stratford Group:1-Pro-File is a Professional File Cataloger, File and Disk Finder, Disk Labeler, and Catalog and Disk Report Printer. It allows you to catalog and print listings and color labels you design of the contents of disks, CDs, Windows directories, folders, and files from any drive or network. Pro-File will allow you to attach a 150-character note and a 10-character Category Name to each disk, folder, and file and then find any file in any location on any medium in the catalog. The program also prints out disk, Zip, and CD labels and case inserts with color graphics and type and prints reports of just one disk, folder, or the entire catalog. Each catalog may be password protected for added security. In this new version you can automatically place the program icon in the system tray for quick open. You also can save all file and disk search results for export to Excel, Access, or other programs. Added label templates for Zip and CD Jewel Cases plus unlimited catalogs with unlimited files.

"Excellent Product -- Best I've Seen"
Summary: It keeps track of all of my stock trades and financial accounts. I find anything immediately even if it was done two years ago. Great!

Pros: I can find all of my files on all of my disks and even catalog my hard drives and put notes on each file and folder. Also prints labels of all kinds.

Pros: This product not only catalogs disks, it also catalogs hard drives and Microsoft directories! It prints right to commercially available labels for all media and it provides label templates that you can print for your local printer to use if you don't want to pay for labels at your office supply store. It will find any file at any time anywhere. And you can attach a 250-character note and a category name (business, art, pictures, etc.) to each file on each disk for instant search. It will search by any string within the Note, search by Category, Search by Name, etc. It prints out a complete listing of all files on any medium and the search uses a structured storage engine to go through thousands of files instantly. When it finds the file you want, it tells you what disk it's on, where it's located and, if you double click on the file, it will ask for the disk where that file is stored (it automatically numbers disks in an unused space on the disk itself. When you put the disk in its drive (CD, Floppy, etc.) it automaticlly starts the software program the file needs for you to operate. If it's a .doc file, Word automatically starts and brings up the file you were searching for. If the contents of your disk change, you merely tell it to "Update" the disk and the new file is created with the changes. This is a great product! If there are any negative reviews they're from some of its competitors who I've seen trying to copy this product and sell their version of it. Try it. It's free to use and all features can be tested. That's what I did. I wound up buying it for everyone in my office. Now my office uses nothing else for thousands of corporate files as well as all of each employee's entire disk collection. It also has built-in security to protect all catalogs you create. When you print labels, you can add color graphics, change type, scale type, etc. We're also cataloguing all medical images like MRIs, CTs, and X-Rays of all kinds.

Summary: Installer installs old files over newer windows controls. Doesn't pick up the volume label so you have to type it in. Could be the framework for a good program but needs lots of work.
