"Best Free/Cheap Download Manager"
Pros: fast. files are always complete. pause works well. scheduler. can grap mp3s from myspace.
Cons: sometimes it will take over downloading something you want to download into temporary files and load on page and it can be difficult to stop it.

"I took the leap, never looked back."
Pros: I was very skeptical of a download manager. I have a 10 MB download and 1 MB upload rate, which is extremely fast already. However, I was having trouble with one download that was moving at a snailā??s pace of 80kpbs and terminating half-way after two and a half hours, with no ability to resume. I gave Internet Download Manager a shot at it and it took 11 minutes at a rate of 1400 kbps. Not only did it succeed at downloading the troubled file, but it did it in a fraction of the time. Most impressed.
Cons: Iā??m still exhilarated about the one download working that I havenā??t found anything I donā??t like. In fact, the application is very forward and upfront about what it is doing. There is no hi-jacking the browser or anything fishy going on without your knowledge and consent. It explains things clearly and concisely.
