"Time, temperature, and the current cloud cover"
Pros: Time, temperature, and the current cloud cover in any given area of the world are useful information and visual aid.
Cons: I cannot thing of anything wrong with this free screensaver and information tool.

"I could run it but with constant flickering."
Pros: It looked great.
Cons: It left an inch or two of rapid flickering desktop exposed to the right and below.
Summary: I use Vista Home Premium and IE8 Beta2. I've a Radeon 2600 PCIE card installed. My system works great except with downloaded screensavers. So I wouldn't consider my experience with 3D Earth to be typical of what to expect.
