This application does a respectable job of delivering effective filter controls online and offline, though it lacks some monitoring features. 1-ACT Parental Advisor 2006 allows you to control access to programs and Web sites on your computer. You'll be able to block specific URLs and applications all together or simply schedule when access may be granted. The program's clear-cut interface is divided into work and play areas and provides content filtering by a user-defined keyword list. What's more, sites that are considered off-limits at all times can be placed on a blacklist. 1-ACT Parental Advisor 2006 also records keyloggers and lists all apps and URLs opened, but unlike other parental-control utilities, it doesn't provide screen captures. Our only other complaint is the stingy one-day trial period. Other than that, parents and administrators will find 1-ACT Parental Advisor 2006 an adept utility for controlling computer activity.
