#1 CD Ripper helps you convert digital-audio tracks directly from compact discs to CD-quality WAV, MP3, Windows Media, or OGG Vorbis files without generating temporary files. Its key features include a built-in CD player, album information from CDDB, Winamp playlist support, multiple CD-ROM support, and ID3 tag support. The anticrackle feature helps you avoid creating MP3s with crackles on some computers.

Version 1.8 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Ripping a CD should be as easy as pie, right? This application has everything you need to convert CD files to audio formats such as WAV or MP3, yet doesn't give you one drop more. #1 CD Ripper showcases its basic set of features through a straightforward and intuitive Mac-styled interface.

One-touch buttons make it easy to figure out the process, even for those who have not had much experience. While settings options are sufficient, such as the ability to tweak bit rate and overall audio quality of output files, we ran into some stability issues during testing. On a few occasions the program crashed, only to reboot without giving us any indication of what triggered the meltdown.

In addition, the demo will only extract the first three tracks from any given discs, which seems overly restrictive considering the number of free rippers currently available. Overall, while flexibility and stability issues are a concern, this program performs as it should.
